Greetings to all writers and poets!
Swift: The Clark College Literary Journal has officially opened submissions for fiction, creative nonfiction, and poetry until January 3rd, 2027. We accept submissions from current and former students, faculty, and staff of Clark College.
For a sense of what we love, check out “The Life of Shoulds,” “Petals,” and “Tiny Tales: A Memoir” from our 2026 issue. However, we’re always looking for unique voices, new perspectives, and meaningful writing.
Before you submit:
Here at The Swift, we do not accept work that has been generated by AI in full or in part. We believe that creative writing is rooted in the human experience. We ask that you be upfront with us about the use of any AI or other written works you may have used in your writing process. We also make a promise to our community that your submissions are always read and examined by our human editors.
Submission Guidelines:
- Fiction & Creative Nonfiction: We look for prose driven by a distinct, memorable voice. Show us work that delights, challenges, or alters readers’ perspectives.
- Submit up to two pieces (maximum 4,000 words per piece).
- Poetry: We want poems that surprise us. Show us work driven by unexpected imagery, inventive line breaks, and language that feels entirely new.
- Submit up to four poems.

We welcome you to please submit your work to Submittable using the following requirements:
